Nineteen years ago, coming fresh out of High School, I stepped out from under the sheltered, liberal umbrella that growing up in Lawrence, Kansas had afforded me, and (much to the anxiety of my family) I wandered out into the ruthless storm of reality beyond the safety a traditional, textbook education supposedly promised by a college degree... all for the pursuit of an entertainment career.  I felt I had spent long enough playing "Pin-The-Tail on the Donkey" in an environment where the donkey's ass was the size of a barn and no one believed in blindfolding the contestants -- it was time to stop playing for fun and participation ribbons; instead, I left to train for the big leagues of industry.

I wasn't about to cash out on the safety of only climbing to comfortable mediocrity knowing I possessed the skill to play for greatness.

So, I moved to Los Angeles at 19 years old and, in the name of art, I surrendered my life to whatever may come -- be it Hell or high water.  Consequently, it was both: in the decade and a half that passed since, I have faced three bouts of homelessness, several abusive living situations, near misses with death, and a handful of close shaves with the law -- all for one resonating voice in the back of my mind that whispered incessantly:

"You can't write what you don't know.  Get your hands dirty and tell a REAL story, in your own words."

Now, at 34 years old, I have enough real-life experience guiding the scarred hands with which I write to offer this site as a highlight reel for your consideration.  Though I am a performer by nature, what you will see here is not an act -- I can be it all because I've lived it all: I sacrificed the safety net of mediocrity to break the cage, run wild, and become great.
